                              PBAI 20th Anniversary Celebration

The Professional Bail Agents of Idaho Inc. twenty year anniversary celebration was a wonderful success. This conference was our best ever. Everything from the top notch continuing education to the fabulous anniversary dinner was truly a conference we can all be proud of!

Our Founding members, John Duvall, Carol Hoerner-Owens, Nancy Cladis, Julie Hoerner-Simmons, Greg Giardina, Debbie Hicks, and Staci Freeman-Madron were honored and received a special memento from the association. The ladies received a beautiful diamond and gold infinity necklace and the gentlemen received finely crafted wooden wine storage boxes which contained two, just released to the market, bottles of wine from Idaho’s own Carmella Winery. The association thanks Sun Surety for their generous donation of these gifts. Our honorees were escorted to the head table by Deputy Rudy Foote (Elmore County Sheriff’s Department), Captain Roy Lynn McCallum (Elmore County Sheriff’s Department) and Officer Melanie Rhodes (Mountain Home Police Department).

John Duvall a founding member and past president of the association spoke briefly reflecting on the early days of the association. He spoke of the challenges the association and its members have overcome and his confidence in its ability to handle what may come in the future. He also spoke of his friendship of many years with Kenneth Owens. While Ken was unable to attend John honored him for his many years of dedication, hard work, compassion and kindness that he brought to the association. Ken’s wife Carol Hoerner-Owens accepted the gift on his behalf.

Founding member Wade McKay was unable to attend due to recently having back surgery. His gift was accepted for him by association President CJ Nemeth.

A moment of silent prayer was offered for the founding members who had passed away and all bail agents who are no longer with us but have touched our lives. They are forever in the hearts of our members.

Not only did we have record breaking attendance by bail agents the support of our sureties was phenomenal! A moment was taken during the dinner to thank Clint Pringle from Allegheny Casualty Company International Fidelity Insurance Company Associated bond (AIA Surety) for sponsoring the anniversary banquet and the open bar, Cheryl Burns, Daniel Tidwell, Steve Grobel, Russell Idaeshi, Bail USA who sponsored our continuing education and presented two hours of CE, Christine Jallad, Debbie Jallad, Jonathan Jallad and Gene Newman from  Accredited Surety Company for sponsoring the continental breakfast both mornings of conference, Jeremy Hubbard and Richard Franklin A-Affordable Bail Bonds for absorbing the cost of association printing and publishing, Pat Wood Sun Surety for sponsoring our gift for the associations founding members, Robert Southey from Bankers Surety Service for their sonsorship of the coffee breaks, Carlyle Poindexter of Poindexter Surety Services for sponsoring name badge lanyards and motivational books for door prizes. (Carlyle was unable to attend due to the birth of his and his wife’s new baby Amelia Isabella Poindexter) Roche Surety & Casualty Co. Inc for their purchase of a hallway sign and new banner for the association, Scott Anschultz and Fred Anschultz, from American Contractor’s Indemnity for their sponsorship of gift cards and a television for door prizes and their willingness to teach two hour of CE, Gary Logue American Surety Company for donation of a variety of door prizes. Although not recognized at the dinner for his contribution the association would like to thank PBAI member Derryl Futrell for his donation of a hand crafted, absolutely gorgeous boat shaped shelf with inset clock for a door prize.

We recognized Senator Nicole Lefavour for her continued support of the association in legislative issues and we appreciate her taking the time to educate us on legislative procedures during a special session Thursday morning. Nicole's approachability and friendliness made her an instant hit with the association and its members. Elmore County Magistrate Judge David Epis was recognized for his support of the association and its members. He is dedicated to educating our members on new bail laws and truly seems to understand that our members are doing our best to work within the laws of the state of Idaho and that we take great pride in our role in the court process.  We were also honored to recognize Cheryl Burns (Bail USA) for her accomplishment of being named “2009 Individual of the Year” by the Professional Bail Agent of the United States.

For all who attended we hope you enjoyed your time with us as much as we enjoyed our time with you. See you next spring!
